Implementation of Decisions

The goal of our strategic litigation work is to ensure that persons whose rights are violated enjoy remedy, and that long-term measures be put in place by States to ensure sustainable enjoyment of rights in African countries. In this regard, our wish is to see that the decisions in the cases we litigate get fully implemented by the relevant stakeholders. We take matters of implementation of decisions on our cases quite seriously. Thus, we have developed internal guidelines for efforts to follow up on implementation of decisions on our cases, which we endeavour, as much as possible, to apply in all our cases. Also, we closely monitor developments concerning all IHRDA’s decided cases, to assess the extent to which concerned parties are responding to the decisions of the given treaty/judicial body.
