Banjul, 22 March 2022: IHRDA with Togo & Sierra Leone partners decry Togo’s failure to fully address issues raised by ACERWC since review of Togo’s report in 2011, notably in matters of child literacy, budget allocation for promotion and protection of child rights, and full territorial coverage of implementation of child rights and welfare. We also raised the concern of Sierra Leone’s failure to adopt law criminalising FGM, which enables prevalence of this harmful practice.
