Banjul, 15 April 2021: IHRDA is inviting interested and qualified lawyers and civil society actors to apply to participate in a strategic litigation and case identification workshop on economic and social rights. The workshop is expected to take place from 18 – 20 May 2021 on IHRDA’s Zoom Meeting Platform. Participants will be trained on litigating economic and social rights cases, and will collectively identify suitable cases that could be filed for litigation before suitable mechanisms in the African human rights system.

Participants must be:

  • A legal practitioner who has previously litigated, or is currently litigating human rights cases at the national or regional levels; or
  • A member of a human rights organization (with a legal background) whose organization is involved in human rights documentation, advocacy or litigation;
  • A legal practitioner/member of a human rights organization already working on economic and social rights issues or cases, and/or with a keen interest to pursue litigation in this field;

Must be from any of the following: The Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone.
