The Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (IHRDA) is looking for talented African designers and developers to help us refresh our brand identity and reimagine our digital home.

We want a bold new logo and visual identity that reflects who we are, and a modern, user-friendly website that connects with people across Africa and beyond. This is more than a design job — it’s about creating a platform for impact.

What we’re looking for

  • A fresh, professional logo and visual identity package (color palette, typography, style guidelines).
  • A complete redesign and redevelopment of the IHRDA website and two databases linked to the website – Case Law Analyser & SGBV Database.
  • Mobile-first, responsive design (desktop, tablet, phone).
  • Multilingual functionality (English, French, with room to grow).
  • Smooth migration of our existing resources and case law database.
  • Accessibility and inclusivity at the core of design.
  • Strong security and data protection.
  • A CMS that makes updating content simple for our team.

💡 Who should apply

  • Designers/developers based in Africa or in the Diaspora who can handle both branding + web development.
  • Individuals or teams who have built strong brands and impactful websites for NGOs, research institutions, or social causes.
  • Creatives who care about design, usability, and human rights.

📂 What to send us

  • A short proposal telling us how you’d approach this project.
  • Links to your portfolio (with examples of branding + websites).
  • CV(s) of key team members (if applicable).
  • Your timeline and budget estimate (in USD).

📅 Deadline for submissions: Wednesday 8th October
📧 How to apply: Email your proposal and portfolio to mjallow@ihrda.org with the subject line: “Branding & Website Proposal – IHRDA”.

We welcome applications from across the continent and beyond — whether you’re a solo creative in Dakar or London, a startup in Nairobi, or a collective in Johannesburg. Let’s build something powerful together.
