Banjul, 02 May 2023: IHRDA and Clooney Foundation for Justice in joint statement addressed to ACERWC at 41st Ordinary Session in Maseru, Lesotho, have decried high prevalence of harmful practices, especially child marriage and FGM, against girls in many African States. We observed that many States have inadequate legal provisions against child marriage and have failed to adopt laws criminalising FGM, which enable prevalence of these harmful practices. Details:
